Old 1820s Homestead built by Wm Hall, with meticulously laid cellar walls and foundations. .

1800s Rockpile 1

Montón de piedras grises apiladas.

Old rockpile, once called "the cemetery", because the occasional dead sheep or lamb would be left here for the wild animals. We think it predates the  early 1800 pioneers.

Straw Field Stonewall

Cuadraciclo sobre césped y piedras apiladas.

Our second rockpile located in a pasture above the stream. We are now calling these our "stones circles", of unknown origin.

Curious stacked stone feature, or "cairn", hidden for many years in the valley by our  stream. A 280-year-old shagbark hickory grows out of it. The site is registered with PA-SHARE.

Another stone circle hidden away in our CREP (conservation) area. Only LiDAR images finally allowed us to pinpoint it in winter.

Slope Stonewall

Old stonewall built in the 1800s on a slope leading down to another field.

Rutland Rd Stonewall

Even Rutland Road had a stonewall along it in the 1800s. These stones are the remains of the wall on our property.

Old Bricks

Rutland Rd Stonewall

The Hall Homestead also contained a small amount of old red bricks, still intact.

Boulders

And to think they handled some pretty big boulders by hand! Horses of course helped. This one finally came out with a tractor bucket. It's now our "Little Stonehenge".

Miscellaneous

Slipper Stone for Young Elf

Some rocks and stones are so curious that they have been taken out for separate appreciation. Some old artefacts that are truly works of art.
